And why do some white people think it’s ever okay to use it?

As the Philadelphia Eagles face the Buffalo Bills, both teams have players involved in past use of the N-word.

Josh Allen tweeted the N-word years ago and later apologized. Saquon Barkley’s wife also used the N-word when she was younger, but unlike Allen, she has never publicly addressed or acknowledged those tweets.

This raises a bigger question: why do some white people think it’s okay to use the N-word, and why has it become a buzzword, when historically it has been used as a slur to demonize and dehumanize Black people?
