The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) informed the Daily Mail that the individual involved was carrying two magazines, and federal authorities have since secured the firearm.
The incident took place shortly after 9 a.m. on Saturday near Glam Doll Donuts at the intersection of 26th Street and Nicollet Avenue, during what appeared to be a physical altercation involving multiple agents.
Footage from the scene shows agents subduing the man on the ground before one federal officer fired several shots into his chest.
This event represents the third recent shooting in Minneapolis involving federal agents, following an ICE officer fatally shooting a woman on January 7 and another federal agent injuring a man approximately a week later.
Officials have not yet released further details.
