Druski Skit Is Not Miming God, It’s Mocking Mega Churches That Mock God

Mega churches have become the new Price is Right, where members who contribute the most tithes are treated like royalty. They are given assigned seats, their names engraved on walls and bricks, and hierarchy systems reminiscent of secret societies, like the Boule. The wealthy and well-to-do are elevated, while God’s name is often said less than the pastor’s. Church services have turned into weekly stage plays or BET Awards-style spectacles, with some pastors resorting to shock value, spitting on members, or comparing Jesus to a stripper. People treat church like a nightclub, some musicians arrive high, and pastors exploit members—sometimes even getting them pregnant. The experience has become a show streamed online, with leaders begging for money from congregants who can barely pay their bills. Fireworks light up the stage, and some pastors have turned churches into quasi-dispensaries to attract male members. Recently, Druski did a skit mocking mega church pastors who care more about the show than God, highlighting the absurdity and spectacle that has overtaken true worship.

It’s not just mega churches—regular-size churches fall into the same trap. Members treat pastors like rock stars, idolizing them instead of holding anyone accountable. True accountability is missing, and the focus shifts from worshiping God to elevating personalities. If Jesus walked into these churches today, he would flip the tables just the same, challenging the performance, the politics, and the misplaced reverence.
